Somatic Experiencing® Testimonials

“Charlotte is truly a gifted healer.  Her authentic presence, warm accompaniment, and patience is indeed the only thing that has allowed me to choose to engage with remnants of decades old shards of trauma.  The wisdom derived from a combination of her SE and yogic trainings integrated with her own healing journey creates real hope and possibilities for my own healing and re-embodiment.  I’m grateful for her walking with me in my path to retake ownership of my own body and the wonder of being in this world fully present and integrated.” – C.L.

I have had the pleasure of working with Charlotte for the past 6 months and I highly recommend her as a somatic practitioner! She has a gift for creating a nurturing space where I feel safe, heard, and supported. Her compassionate and non-judgmental presence helps me feel more at ease exploring whatever emerges every session. I feel validated in my experience and feel guided to build a stronger connection with my body. What I appreciate the most about Charlotte's approach is that she offers choice and honors the pace at which I feel comfortable going. I never feel pressured to explore or share more than I'm ready to, and I appreciate that she provides options to help me feel in control of my own healing journey, which I feel is so important. The sessions with Charlotte feel gentle and well-paced, never overwhelming. I am deeply appreciative of how she understands my unique needs and ensures that the sessions are tailor-made to what works best for me. It's reassuring to see that a practitioner cares for my overall well-being. I am grateful for the work that Charlotte and I have done together. I cannot recommend her enough as a practitioner! - Supraja

Yoga Testimonials

Charlotte is hands down my favorite yoga teacher. She approaches every class with a reliable grace and good humor that reminds you not to take yourself too seriously, while simultaneously creating a grounded, inclusive space that makes you feel safe as she guides you through a beautifully sequenced exploration of each asana/pose. Charlotte has a wonderfully playful way of bringing everyone in, regardless of their differing levels of experience. She's always eager to share her deep knowledge of physiology and anatomy and how the physical body  factors into a wide variety of yogic traditions, from kundalini to pranayama, meditation, mantra and subtle body work. I have taken every level of class she has to offer and am a 200RYT myself. I still come as often as I can to Charlotte's classes. Her honest, ebullient connection to this path and her commitment as a healer and teacher have helped me enormously as I find my way on my own path. I can not recommend her more highly. - Danielle T.

I have been taking Charlotte's yoga class once a week for over two years. I always look forward to her classes not only because she is such a kind, genuine, fun and funny, interesting person with a ton of yoga knowledge but more so for what Charlotte's classes consistently do for the well being of both my physical body and mental state. As a woman in my early 50's (gulp) my physical body is in recovery from decades of ballet training. Through specific exercises she offers her students I have been able to identify muscle groups that were weak and underdeveloped and have learned how to "fire" those muscles which are necessary for injury prevention and recovery. I love how each of Charlotte's classes start with a focus that is usually inspired by the seasons or the moon or a Sanskrit concept. I always find that whatever the focus, be it "grounding work" or "energy work," it is often EXACTLY what I needed that day!  To say Charlotte is an intuitive is an understatement!  If I could take more than one of Charlotte's classes a week, I would do so in a heartbeat.  Being present in her class is one of the highlights of my week! - Corrine M.

Wonderful!!! Charlotte teaches with wisdom, compassion, and humor. Her classes are an incredibly satisfying blend of the physical and the meditative! Her movement cues are brilliant- I find so many new ways to experience my body. She offers exploration of small alignment and strength building movements that really enhance the practice. She builds a feeling of community among her students. I love that she has such an easy laugh as she teaches! - Hannah T.

Charlotte is the best!  Not only is she extremely personable but she is also full of life.  Her attention to detail is impressive.  She worked out a personalized routine for me including key stretches and core work that have over time woken up areas of my body that were numb or just not working correctly!  I have so much more strength and energy now and I always look forward to our Sat morning sessions at my house!   - Laura C.

Cannot say enough what an outstanding instructor Charlotte is. When I'm in need of a grounding and mindful practice, she's the first teacher to come to mind. Charlotte's classes are great because they incorporate a lot of subtle body stuff without leaving you feeling that you did it wrong -- in other words, instruction is very clear and articulate for a discipline in yoga that can be very hard to teach. She can get you attuned and noticing something in the physical body that you didnt notice before. She does a great job of reading the room and giving enough options and variations for different body types. She's got a fun and playful energy without being too over the top with it -- sometimes a little too much laughter in yoga, or laughter at the wrong time can be distracting (or even agitating) for me in my practice, but Charlotte has a really good sense of how do it right. She's a real natural and it is clear to me that shes really dedicated to her practice, each time I attend one of her classes. I leave feeling spacious, stretched out, and right where I need to be, energetically. We are so lucky to have her here in the East Bay. Thank you, Charlotte! - Reese I.
